EXT. FIRST NATIONAL BANK - NIGHT
DANIEL and ADAM are outside crouched behind a car. CLAIRE
and FRANKIE, with a laptop, are off to the side in a van.
DANIEL
Okay. Adam and I are across from
the bank. Claire, are you and
Frankie in position with the van?
CLAIRE
Roger that.
DANIEL
Great. I’ve got the grappling hook,
so Adam and I can enter from the
top. Now Frankie, have you hacked
into the bank’s security system
yet?
FRANKIE
Nope!
DANIEL
What do you mean, nope?
FRANKIE
Yeah, no. I’m not doing that.
DANIEL
Are you kidding me? We planned this
heist down to the second! You have
to-
FRANKIE
We’ve done this shit your way a
thousand times, Danny. it’s always
the same. You guys go in there,
steal the money and get the girl
while I’m stuck in a hot server
room. I’m tired of being the tech
guy. What I really want to be is an
assassin!
DANIEL
Frankie! You’re the best coder in
the biz! This isn’t the time-
FRANKIE
Then when is the time, Danny? When
IS the time?! Listen, I code all
day at my job and I hate it. What I
really like is killing people! And
I’m good at it! (beat) I got a
sniper rifle. Here. Right now. You
get me out there, I blow each of
those motherfuckers’ brains out. We
walk in and take the cash. Boom.
CLAIRE
This is a bank heist! We can’t kill
anyone!
FRANKIE
That’s bullshit. We’re criminals!
ADAM
We’re classy thieves. Not
murderers!
FRANKIE
Exactly! YOU’RE classy thieves. Let
me be the murderer!
DANIEL
No! We need you to tunnel through
the backend of the security-
FRANKIE
(shutting the laptop)
Oh? Is that all I’m good for? The
ol’ beep boop boop beep beep beep
blorp? Fuck that. I’m shutting the
laptop. Oop. Look. It’s shut now.
Guess we gotta do it my way!

CLAIRE
Why do you want to kill people?!
FRANKIE
Uh, for starters, I worked in IT
for four years. (beat) Never got a
raise. But the first time I killed
a guy, I got a free car out of it!
Had to hose out the inside, though.
They say you’ll never work a day in
your life if you do what you love.
And boy, do I love killing!
DANIEL
Dammit, Frankie. If you’re not
going to stick to the plan, we’ll
have to deal with this ourselves.
DANIEL and ADAM throw up the grappling hook, scale the wall
and drop into the bank. They’re horrified by what they see.
ADAM
Oh, my god. THERE’RE BODIES
EVERYWHERE!
FRANKIE
Ha. Ha. Oh yeah. I forgot. I got
here ahead of time and released
some poison g-
DANIEL
FRANKIE!
FRANKIE
You didn’t let me finish. I was
going to say "released some poison
gas".
DANIEL
These people had FAMILIES!
FRANKIE
Well, they should’ve thought of
that before I killed them.
ADAM picks up a guard’s arm. It has no hand.
ADAM
Why is this guy missing a hand?!
FRANKIE
Funny story. I chopped that dude’s
hand off to get fingerprints for
the safe’s biometric scanner.
CLAIRE
I think I’m going to be sick.
DANIEL
Jesus Christ, Frankie. You’re
supposed to be helping us hack into
things, not hack off body parts.
FRANKIE
Again with the computer stuff.
Can’t you see I hate that? Do you
know how many times I had to
restart someone’s computer at work
today? 43 times. And that was just
one guy! Chopping off that guard’s
hand was the only thing I did today
that I was passionate about!
DANIEL
We’re trying to rob a bank, not
commit war crimes!
FRANKIE
Listen, shitbird. You wanna make an
omelette, you’re gonna have to cut
off a few hands.
Alarm bells start ringing.
DANIEL
Great. We tripped the security
system. We’re never going to get
our money now. Thanks a lot,
Frankie.
FRANKIE
I was never in it for the money. I
was in it for the love of the game.
(beat) I’m an artist and murder is
my canvas.
ADAM
Frankie, shut up! We need you to
re-program the alarm! The cops are
going to be here any second!
FRANKIE
Yeah. About that. Before I got
here, I made a little pitstop
across town.
CLAIRE
Oh my God. What did you do?
FRANKIE
Let’s just say I (air quotes) "blew
up the police station". Now quit
whining and grab the money.
ADAM and DANIEL walk into the safe, comes back with a bag of
money and the guard’s severed hand.
ADAM
Say what you will about Frankie...
he gets results.
A beat passes.
FRANKIE
Anyone else SUPER hard right now?
